Course for Church Readers

Two sessions twice a year

We are offering a two-sessions course for parish readers, which is run twice a year.

The two sessions which form the course are offered online, on Saturday morning, from 10am to 1pm.

Session 1 offers a general and brief introduction to the Liturgy of the Church and a more specific overview of the Liturgy of the Word at Mass, as well as an overview of the practical skills required for reading in church.

Session 2 offers a general introduction to the Bible and a group study of a specific reading, using the 4 senses of Scripture, to equip parish readers so as to prepare and understand the depth of  the texts they read.

A certificate is awarded upon completion of the course.

The formation we offer should be supplemented by reading practice in the parish.

Check our schedule of courses and events to find the dates of the next readers' course.

When the Sacred Scriptures are read in the Church, God himself speaks to his people, and Christ, present in his own word, proclaims the Gospel.
